Kruisafneming - Peter Paul Rubens in Antwerpen, Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-kathedraal (publiek domain)

Artists are often associated with a city. Rubens with Antwerp. Bouts with Leuven. Bruegel with Brussels. But the old Flemish Masters were not so firmly tied as those labels suggest. They often lived and worked in other places, creating new masterpieces each time.

This Master Tour is a bridge between these places. You discover the places where Rubens, Van Dyck and Van Loon plied their craft, and where you can now marvel at their masterpieces today. You learn how their work is intertwined with the local history and culture, which are different in each city and thus guarantee a separate experience.

The impression left by the painters still reverberates today in legends and stories. You get to hear these during your journey. They give the fascinating story of our Flemish Masters a layer of extra colour.
